Lookbook : The devil wears alpaca

Well it has been another wet day in London, but seeing as we sussed the raincoat dilemma yesterday, I had a lovely walk around the city for St George’s day. Still needing a map you may notice – this place is HUGE !

– Trench by H&M (2011)

– Sweater / Pull by Kookaï (it’s even nicer without a trench covering it up !)

– Snuggly alpaca hat / Bonnet en alpaga bought in Peru

– Neutral tote / Cabas The Clever Baggers (ready to be DIYed !)

– Glasses (prescription) / Lunettes de vue by Ralph Lauren

– Earrings / Boucles d’oreilles by Louche @ Joy

– Lipstick / Rouge à Lèvres #140 KISS ME by Rimmel

– Neon Nailpolish / Vernis à ongles fluo by American Apparel

And this is the song I’ve been singing to myself all day ! / Et voilà ce que j’ai chantonnée toute la journée !

“I’m just a little bit caught in the middle…”

DIY : Homemade Bath Bomb // Boule de Bain Maison

Somedays, DIYing just doesn’t go according to plan. Today was one of those days. You know what it’s like, however hard you try, however many projects you try to get stuck into… It’s just not gonna happen ! So I decided to give up on the millions of marvelous things I had to show you today and go and get me some pampering ! But of course Creativity kicks back in when you least expect it and I ended up making something after all. I had a beautifully relaxing bath with this Homemade Bath Bomb and just had to share it ! The oats are great for a soft soothing bathe and the lavender smells delicious even though the flowers aren’t out yet ! The salt will help with any aches or pains and the rest just makes you feel special ! The perfect end to a long week-end ♥

Here’s how to do it yourself :

Toi-même tu sais faire :

Until tomorrow, sleep tight : )

How many wonders can one cavern hold ?

Just when you think you’ve grown up a little, a brand new toy comes along. I’ve been having an amazing time messing around with my Olympus XZ-1 camera this past week and seem to be taking sneaky snaps of everything. Some of them are useless but some of them come out great and I think this was the case for the short set of photos I stole from my local “General Shop”. Isn’t that a great name ?! You wouldn’t really know what is in a “General Shop” unless you walked in, would you ? And to be honest you wouldn’t really walk in unless you were looking for something you had no luck finding in “Specific Shops” ! Well that’s how long it took me to find out what was inside this wonderful trove. To my pleasant surprise I found exactly what I needed and more – teasures untold, thingamabobs, gadgets and whozits galore !

Isn’t it fascinating ?! I could have bought the whole place just so I had time to go through it piece by piece ! Unfortunately, all I needed were a few hooks, and they were just as easy to find as they were to put up !

Bye for now !

Spring Shades

Do you ever find that you have two items that suit each other so well and yet by essence cannot be worn together ? It happens to me so often and these two new pairs of Spring sunglasses are the perfect example. Don’t they look amazing together ?!                         Image

Mint is everywhere at the moment, a real Twenty-Twelver. You may have seen byebyesoccermom’s DIY leather mint belt featured in Chic Steal’s links of the week (along with my Walk of Fame wedges !) or maybe you noticed it’s right there every time you click on TheBeautyDepartment.com, up in the top right corner. And red ? Well, red’s a staple. And the sexy shade is definitely enjoying the pastel phase fashion is going through this year because it stands out more than ever ! I’m consciously influenced by current trends and think these colours look grand together, but the problem with these glasses is I will always have to pick one or the other…

By the way, did you notice my bright blue shelf ? I told you I was DIYing my new flat at the moment… Well this particular creation was made from a drawer I found in the street, a can of blue spray paint and a couple of belts : ) Ya like ?
